Being With and Letting Go

This month’s cartoon is by co-cartoonist-in-residence, Susan MacLeod:

“This image created for Grief Matters attempts to convey the complexity of experiencing grief. The process can be ever-changing, sorrowful and lonely, but also lush with growth and gratitude.”

This cartoon will be at the exhibition, Picturing Grief: An exhibition of cartoons by Savannah Tries & Susan MacLeod, from October 11-November 21st, at the Halifax Public Library. See our community events calendar for more information.

Susan MacLeod is a co-cartoonist-in-residence at Grief Matters, and is a Nova Scotian artist writing and drawing about health care issues. Her humorous book, Dying for Attention: A Graphic Memoir of Nursing Home Care, follows her nine-year journey shepherding her mother through a callous long-term care system. This inspired her interest in end-of-life and grief issues.
