Seeking Stones: Grief in Foster Care

This month’s cartoon is by guest artist, Savannah Tries. Savannah spoke with a person, who wishes to remain anonymous, about their experiences of grief and healing after being raised in foster care as a result of the ‘Sixties Scoop.’ It is estimated that upwards of 20,000 Indigenous children were forcibly removed from their homes in Canada between 1960-1990 and placed into foster care and adopted homes. More information on the Sixties Scoop can be found at:

We’re grateful to this person for their generosity and reflections.
