Sunrise Sunset
This month’s cartoon is by guest cartoonist, Lynette Richards:
After months bouncing around the system, I got a biopsy.
Abnormal cells. Things began to move quickly then.
I had surgery in January and began 8 weeks of brutal recovery.
In February the pathology report came in, and the results were mixed. The cancer was identified as rare and aggressive but early stage.
I’m currently receiving 25 days of radiation treatments.
I’ve experienced every emotion from anguish to acceptance and back again.
There have been profound and devastating times, and more ahead.
Here is one such moment, made into a comic.
With thanks to my wonderful surgeon and her team, and the nurses in radiation.
I almost look forward to going, just to see them.
